The DLZ Creator addresses a specific problem: most digital mixers either oversimplify to the point of being limiting, or demand a steep learning curve. Mackie resolves this with three interface modes – Easy, Enhanced and Pro – switchable in real time on the 10.1" touchscreen. The hardware and DSP remain identical across all three; only the layer of control changes to match the operator's experience level or the session at hand.
Mix Agent, AutoMix and Mix Minus – smart automation without compromise
Mix Agent walks through setup step by step, handling gain calibration and mic preset configuration without menu-diving. AutoMix manages levels across up to four microphones simultaneously, automatically attenuating inactive speakers – critical for panel discussions and multi-host podcasts where ducking speed and accuracy directly affect listener experience. Mix Minus eliminates call echo with a single tap: Bluetooth 5.0-connected phones are routed into the mix without the caller hearing their own voice reflected back. Each of the four headphone outputs (30 mW each) carries an independently configured monitor mix.
Recording, networking and DSP
Multitrack recording captures 12 channels plus the main mix at 24-bit/48 kHz directly to microSD or USB flash drive. SD 3.0 transfer at 104 MB/s eliminates dropout risk during long sessions. The Ethernet 10/100 port enables NDI integration – the DLZ Creator connects directly to OBS or other streaming systems as an audio/video source without routing through a USB host computer. System latency is approximately 3 ms. Per-channel DSP covers 3-band parametric EQ, noise gate, de-esser, compressor, Atomizer Reverb and Chronotronic Delay with adjustable parameters per channel.
