Kerwax K-24F

Kerwax K-24F is a large-diaphragm, transformerless FET condenser microphone with a 34mm CK12-type capsule, a circuit Kerwax describes as directly inspired by the electronics of the small-diaphragm Schoeps CMC series. The result combines the speed and precision of small-diaphragm electronics with the tonal depth of a 34mm capsule. It's the only condenser microphone in the Kerwax range, alongside four ribbon models from the same brand.

The transformerless FET design is the same approach that gives Schoeps microphones their low circuit coloration and fast transient response, Kerwax carries that philosophy over to a 34mm capsule, reaching a 20Hz-20kHz frequency range at 15mV/Pa sensitivity with a maximum SPL of 140dB. A cardioid pattern and 200Ω output impedance round out a spec sheet built for studio vocal and instrument work.

A black, sculpted Kerwax body

A body finish described as "vermiculated" (a sculpted black coating) sets the K-24F apart visually from the smooth housings typical of most condenser microphones. It requires 48V phantom power and ships with a swivel mount and a 3/8" to 5/8" stand adapter. The included accessory set (swivel mount, stand adapter, carrying box) means the microphone is ready to work straight out of the box, with nothing extra to buy.
