Kali Audio MM-6 — a 6.5-inch multimedia speaker acoustically identical to the LP-6 studio monitor, with RCA, optical, S/PDIF, and XLR inputs, a built-in 80 W amp, and a remote control.
Under the cabinet, the MM-6 uses the exact same driver setup as the LP-6 — a 6.5-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter in a 3D waveguide, bi-amped at 40 W per section. The difference is in the I/O and usability: instead of studio-style XLR/TRS/RCA connections meant for an interface, the MM-6 gets a full set of inputs for a TV, console, or computer, plus a built-in amp and remote volume control, so no separate receiver is needed. Continuous output sits at 85 dB at 2.2 m with 20 dB of headroom, and a limiter protects the drivers from overdrive regardless of the volume set from the remote.
Studio-monitor accuracy without an audio interface
A home theater setup or gaming station rarely has room for a separate amp or receiver, and a streaming device usually doesn't have an XLR output. The MM-6 addresses this with direct optical and S/PDIF inputs for a TV or console, RCA for analog gear, and XLR to link two units into a stereo pair using the included 10-foot cable. One unit's woofer and tweeter play one channel, while the other channel passes through to the second speaker via the XLR output — the only requirement is that the source is actually sending stereo, not mono or 5.1.
The same correction as in the studio, now on a shelf
Placing a speaker on a shelf, desk, or credenza usually throws off its low-frequency response in ways that are hard to predict without measuring the room. The MM-6 keeps the same Boundary EQ presets set via DIP switches as the LP-6, letting you dial in the right correction for the specific placement without measurement gear. LF and HF trim controls close the gap for the room, and the low-noise front port lets you place the speaker close to a wall without boomy low-end buildup.
