K&M Roughline 3 is the lowest stand in the line König & Meyer built for the Polish market. It exists for one job: put a microphone just above the floor, at the kick drum or in front of a cabinet, without taking up space that is always scarce at those spots.
At the kick drum every centimetre of floor counts
Around a bass drum you already have hardware, cables and often a second stand. Very short, heavy legs give stability on a minimal footprint, so the microphone stands firmly where an ordinary tripod simply will not fit. The same applies to micing a guitar cabinet from below.
A setting that survives soundcheck
The joint is permanently fixed to the shaft and adjusts with a large knob or the supplied clamping nut with pin. Once the angle is set the microphone stays put — even if someone catches the stand with a foot or a cable during rehearsal.
