Microphones with a strong 8–12 kHz shelf sound impressive on headphones in the booth and then need a dynamic de-esser and a narrow cut once the mix starts. The V11 goes the other way: the response is even, so the vocal sits in the track without correction and the acoustic guitar does not fight the cymbals. A quiet path when the mic sits far back
Overheads, room mics and piano all put the microphone at a distance while the preamp adds a lot of gain.
