IK Multimedia iRig BlueTurn – a wireless page-turning foot controller filed under accessories for musicians, conductors, and presenters who use tablets or computers on stage. Two backlit silent footswitches transmit HID commands over Bluetooth LE to a paired device — without occupying any physical port on the host device, leaving USB, Lightning, or USB-C connections free for audio interfaces and other peripherals. Powered by two AAA batteries, with a range of up to 10 meters; compatible with iOS, macOS, and Android (Bluetooth LE). Not compatible with Windows.
Silent and visible — both matter on stage
The footswitches produce no mechanical click on activation — an important detail during live recordings, chamber music performances, or any setting where a microphone is open nearby. LED backlighting keeps both pads clearly visible regardless of stage lighting conditions: blackout theater environments or darkened presentation rooms don't affect usability. Three command modes are selectable at power-on by holding the button until the LED indicates the desired pattern — no companion app or software required. The three modes cover Page Up/Page Down, Arrow Up/Arrow Down, and Arrow Left/Arrow Right, matching the navigation logic of the majority of sheet music, lyric, and document apps across platforms.
Port independence as a working advantage
Bluetooth LE pairing leaves every physical port on the tablet or laptop unoccupied, which matters directly when an audio interface is already connected via Lightning or USB-C. A guitarist using an iRig Pro or similar interface can handle page turns with a foot while keeping the full audio signal chain intact. The roughly 10-meter range provides adequate freedom of movement across most stage setups. Once paired through the device's standard Bluetooth settings, iRig BlueTurn registers as an HID keyboard — universally recognized by the operating system, meaning compatibility extends to virtually any app that responds to keyboard input: ForScore, OnSong, iKlip Stage, Keynote, PDF readers, and more. No drivers, no custom app installation required for basic operation.
