IK Multimedia iRing Green is a touchless motion controller in green: two rings worn on the fingers that, together with the front camera of an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, turn hand movement into control of music apps. It controls up to six effect parameters at once. See mobile music gear in our Warsaw showroom.
Effects driven by your hand, without touching the screen
When you play from a music app, your hands are busy with the instrument or the turntable and the screen is out of reach. The iRing uses a ring with identifiable markers, the front camera of the device and recognition algorithms built into an app to determine the position of the markers. The app converts them into music commands or MIDI messages that any compatible app can read. With one or two hands you control up to six parameters at the same time.
Two rings and two apps in the box
The box holds two identical double-sided rings with two patterns each, so there are many control combinations. They are light, comfortable and have a universal fit. The included apps are iRing Music Maker, in which a beginner plays with gestures, and iRing FX/Controller, in which a musician or DJ builds custom MIDI setups and adds audio effects, also together with other apps through Inter-App Audio or Audiobus. The list of compatible devices dates from the product launch in 2014, so before you buy check in the App Store that the iRing apps are available for your device.
