H2 Audio H 760

H2 Audio H 760 is a recreation of the classic FET compressor and limiter designed by ADR and licensed by Helios. The module is entirely analogue, with a transformer-balanced signal path, and is hand-assembled in Detroit.

Compression you can hear on drums

FET circuits from this lineage are responsible for the drum sound on British records of the early seventies: a short attack that pulls the room in with it, dense midrange, a tail that stays audible. Five switched compression settings plus attack and release controls let you shape that deliberately rather than merely level the track.

A limiter beside the compressor, not instead of it

The compression threshold is fixed, so setup comes down to choosing a setting and driving the input appropriately instead of juggling three parameters at once. A separate limiter section handles peaks regardless of how hard the compressor is working. The module belongs to the 0011 series and needs a rack of that series; it will not run in a 500 series chassis.
