Grace Design m905 (black) is a reference stereo monitor controller with a mastering-grade D/A converter, in a black finish. The second generation of the acclaimed m904, redesigned from the ground up, it combines a scrupulously transparent analog path with DAC conversion on par with the finest mastering equipment, making it the centrepiece of the control room for the engineer and mastering engineer.
A transparent window on your own mix
The monitor controller is a permanent fixture in the monitoring chain through which every production decision is judged — it won't improve the source, but it can degrade it. The m905 is designed not to: the precise analog path achieves 121 dB dynamic range (A-weighted), THD+N below 0.0008% at +20 dBu and a low noise floor, delivering open, detailed and musical playback of any source. A mastering-grade DAC with configurable de-emphasis filtering and a dual-stage s-Lock PLL regenerates the clock with ultra-low jitter, eliminating timing distortion from external digital sources.
Full monitoring management and USB
A control room with multiple sources and several monitor pairs needs flexible switching without losing calibration. The m905 provides three pairs of speaker outputs, two assignable subwoofer outputs and mono, dim and mute modes, with precise 0.5 dB step level control for speakers and headphones. An asynchronous USB Class 2 interface makes the m905 the master clock of the computer's USB bus, eliminating jitter in DAW playback, and lets you pass up to 10 digital channels back to the computer. An ergonomic RCU remote with a graphic LCD, talkback mic and SPL meter keeps all operation within reach.
