Grace Design m108 CRO is an eight-channel, remote-controlled microphone preamp with A/D conversion, factory-fitted with the Control Room Output module. It combines eight channels of transparent, transformerless trans-impedance preamplification and A/D conversion up to 192 kHz with a pair of balanced 1/4" TRS outputs for monitors, creating a self-contained recording, conversion and monitoring system in a 1U chassis.
Transparent capture and monitoring in one unit
An engineer working in the field or in a small studio normally has to combine a separate preamp, converter and monitor controller. The m108 CRO merges these functions: the transformerless trans-impedance path resolves complex waveforms with clarity and depth, and the integrated CRO module with the m108's built-in mixer feeds the signal straight to a pair of monitors. The output level is controlled by the front-panel VOL/MUTE knob, so volume and mute happen in a single move, without an external attenuator.
System matching and flexible control
Active monitors differ in input sensitivity, so the CRO module has selectable Low and High Gain ranges — the factory Low Gain mode is sufficient for most active monitors. The m108 itself is controlled from the panel, via serial or MIDI, from Pro Tools, from an app handling up to 12 units and from any browser via the built-in web server. A/D conversion with the s-Lock PLL delivers a jitter-free signal to the DAW, and standard analog, AES3, ADAT and USB outputs round out integration with any setup.
