Ferrofish Verto MX - Singlemode — a compact 64x64 MADI/Dante converter fitted with a Singlemode optical module for long-distance transmission.
Built for installations where the MADI signal has to travel further than standard multimode fiber allows — building-to-building links, OB van connections, or permanent installs in large venues. The Singlemode version swaps the default SFP module for one matched to single-mode fiber, while keeping the full MADI-to-Dante routing functionality of the Verto MX intact.
Bridging Legacy MADI Gear Into Dante Without Range Limits
A common obstacle when connecting older MADI equipment to a modern Dante network is the limited reach of standard multimode fiber, which falls short in larger venues or external links. The Singlemode SFP module in the Verto MX solves this by enabling optical transmission over much greater distances without signal degradation. Because SFP modules are field-replaceable, the unit stays compatible with existing fiber runs in an installation, and moving to Singlemode doesn't require swapping out the whole converter.
Redundancy at Both the MADI and Dante Layer
In live applications, losing one digital link can't mean a break in audio transmission. Verto MX provides two independent MADI interfaces — optical and coaxial — that switch automatically if one signal fails, while on the Dante side two RJ45 ports run in a primary/secondary configuration with the same failover logic. Combined with a fanless, low-heat enclosure, the unit works equally well in a broadcast truck or in an acoustically sensitive studio control room.
