Ferrofish A32 Pro Dante SM — a 32x32-channel analog-to-digital converter combining ADAT, MADI, and Dante, fitted with a Singlemode optical MADI module for long-range transmission.
This is the flagship A32 Pro configuration, built for large-scale studio, broadcast, and live installations where the signal needs to reach a Dante network while also covering distances beyond what standard Multimode fiber allows. The modular hardware platform bridges analog, ADAT, MADI, and Dante in a single 1U unit without sacrificing routing flexibility.
One Unit Bridging Four Transmission Formats
The main obstacle when integrating legacy MADI/ADAT gear with a modern Dante network is keeping separate converters for each standard. A32 Pro Dante SM solves this through an internal routing matrix where 32x32 analog channels, four ADAT ports, two MADI ports (SFP slots), and Dante — brought out redundantly on two RJ45 connectors — are all available simultaneously and can be freely routed in groups of 8 channels. In total the unit integrates close to 390 channels in a single 1U chassis.
MADI Transmission Range Without Compromising Reliability
A standard Multimode module limits practical MADI optical transmission to roughly 2km, which can fall short in larger installations spanning multiple buildings or remote production positions. The Singlemode configuration carries the MADI signal over much longer distances without quality degradation, while keeping the same reliability as the Multimode version — MADI and Dante are both implemented redundantly, which matters most in live applications. It's worth noting the device on the other end of the MADI link must also run in single-mode.
