Embodme Fabric Skin is a replaceable 4 mm fabric surface for the Erae 2, made for fingertip playing.
Four millimetres instead of six means more sensitivity
Every millimetre of material between a fingertip and the sensor matrix removes some of the pressure information. The thinner fabric skin cuts that distance by a third compared with the silicone versions, so small-amplitude gestures — finger vibrato, easing into a note, a slow pressure swell in MPE — are read at full resolution. This is the setup for someone playing the Erae 2 as a keyboard instrument rather than as a drum pad.
A surface that does not tire your eyes over three hours
The fabric diffuses the 42 × 24 LED matrix more gently than silicone, so the zones stay legible without hard-edged light. On long studio sessions, with the instrument in your field of view for hours, that is a genuine comfort difference. The surface is soft to the touch and offers no drag as a finger travels along the X axis.
