Bricasti Design Serial Interconnect Cable is a nine pin RS422 serial cable joining the M10 remote console to an M7 or M7M processor. The same lead also carries power for the console.
Control and power on a single lead
The M10 has no supply of its own, because it draws DC from the processor through this cable. That keeps another plug out of the power strip and another transformer off the desk at the listening position. Standard length is ten metres, enough to place the processor in a rack outside the control room; where needed the run extends to thirty metres, though longer distances may call for an additional supply at the console. Bricasti uses Reference Laboratories RS FTP02 SF cable, chosen for flexibility and for RS422 service.
