Audient ASP8024 Heritage Edition 48 Ch Console w/DLC/PB is a 48-channel fully analog in-line recording console with 24-bus routing, equipped with both the Dual Layer Control (DLC) module and the integrated patchbay (PB) — a six-bay configuration (four 12-channel bays, master section, DLC bay, and PB bay) measuring 331 cm wide and weighing 234 kg. This is the most complete 48-channel configuration of the ASP8024-HE platform, combining the analog signal path, VCA automation with motorised faders, and front-panel access to all studio connections within a single physical structure. The operator has simultaneous access to every signal point in the console, DAW control, and VCA fader automation without an external rack patchbay or a separate DAW controller. All signal path specifications, EQ topology, and Retro Iron circuit are identical to all other Heritage Edition configurations.
DLC and PB as an Integrated Control and Routing Ecosystem
The DLC module provides 8 motorised faders bankable across the entire session, 8 additional line inputs routable to the mix bus or subgroups, a high-resolution OLED display, a jog/shuttle wheel for project navigation, and DAW control via Ethernet using HUI/Mackie Control protocol. Eight channels of VCA automation allow console fader moves to be recorded and played back. Supported DAWs are Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, and Nuendo. The PB module completes the setup with 768 Bantam TT patch points at the front panel — including 144 user-configurable points for outboard integration, credenza rack connections, and live room tie lines, all configurable as through-wired or half-normalled at order. The patchbay supports two simultaneous 24-track recording devices with playback normalled to tape inputs, front-panel access to all channel inserts on both mic/line and DAW/tape paths, and full master section access. In this configuration, no external patchbay or controller is needed: every signal routing decision and every DAW operation is handled from the console face.
In-Line at 48 Channels, Retro Iron, and Combined Input Count
The in-line architecture delivers 112 inputs from the 48 channel strips plus 8 additional line inputs from the DLC module — up to 120 signal sources summed from a single operating position. The four-band Dearden EQ with two fully parametric mid bands (40 Hz–20 kHz, ±15 dB, variable Q) and two shelving bands is splittable per channel independently. Retro Iron on the stereo bus output — Carnhill transformer and John Hardy 990C — delivers +28 dBu into 600 Ω at the mix insert send with Low Bump and High Lift EQ before the output faders. The VCA stereo bus compressor with adjustable threshold, ratio, auto-release, and GR metering operates post-insert, pre-fader. Fourteen aux sends (12 mono plus 2 cue), 8 subgroups, 48 record buses, and Penny & Giles 8000 series faders on all input channels. Supplied with a single ASP8120 Ultra power supply.
