Audient ASP8024 Heritage Edition 24 Ch Console/DLC Module is a 24-channel fully analog in-line recording console with 24-bus routing, equipped with the Dual Layer Control (DLC) module — a three-bay configuration (two 12-channel bays, master section, and DLC bay) measuring 193 cm wide and weighing 133 kg. The DLC integrates DAW control and VCA automation directly into the console structure, which in a 24-channel frame is particularly impactful: the operator has full command of both the analog session and the DAW without a separate controller, additional cabling, or desk space consumed by a third-party control surface. The Dual Layer Control module provides 8 motorised faders bankable across the entire session, 8 additional line inputs routable to the mix bus or subgroups, a high-resolution OLED display, a jog/shuttle wheel, and DAW control via Ethernet using HUI/Mackie Control protocol. Eight channels of VCA automation allow console fader moves to be recorded and played back in the analog domain; the same eight physical faders handle the DAW layer simultaneously. With 24 in-line channel inputs and 8 DLC line inputs, the console manages up to 60 signal sources from a single operating position without any external summing device. Supported DAWs are Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, and Nuendo. Functions include DAW record arming, plug-in selection and parameter editing, auxiliary automation, and project navigation — all without reaching for a keyboard during a session.

The in-line architecture delivers 52 inputs from the 24 channel strips plus 8 additional line inputs from the DLC module — up to 60 signal sources managed from one position. The four-band Dearden EQ with two fully parametric mid bands (40 Hz–20 kHz, ±15 dB, variable Q) and two shelving bands is splittable per channel independently. Retro Iron on the stereo bus output — Carnhill transformer and John Hardy 990C — delivers +28 dBu into 600 Ω at the mix insert send with Low Bump and High Lift EQ before the output faders. The VCA stereo bus compressor with adjustable threshold, ratio, auto-release, and GR metering operates post-insert, pre-fader. Fourteen aux sends (12 mono plus 2 cue), 8 subgroups, 24 record buses, and Penny & Giles 8000 series faders at a 37 mm channel spacing on all input channels. Supplied with a single ASP8120 Ultra power supply.
