Arturia KeyStep Pro Black — a 37-key USB/MIDI/CV controller and sequencer with a velocity- and aftertouch-sensitive keybed, in black finish. It combines a four-track polyphonic sequencer, a separate 16-track drum sequencer, and a full keyboard playing surface in one unit, built for playing live without a laptop.
37 slim keys with aftertouch give richer articulation than the pads found on the BeatStep Pro — useful when programming melodic lines where post-attack pressure modulating a filter or vibrato carries musical meaning. The step sequencer holds up to 64 steps per sequence with 16 notes of polyphony per step, and each note has independently programmable pitch, velocity, gate length, time shift, and probability — a level of detail rarely found in hardware sequencers this size.
Playing live without opening a DAW
An engineer performing live usually spends time configuring a DAW before every show, risking a software crash mid-performance. KeyStep Pro lets you drop the computer from the stage setup entirely — four independent sequencers drive different synths or Eurorack modules simultaneously, and a separate metronome output gives a drummer an accurate click track without extra gear.
A 24-track drum sequencer with polyrhythm
The dedicated drum sequencer handles 24 separate parts with polyrhythm programming — each track can run its own cycle length, producing patterns that drift against each other in ways hard to achieve on a standard 16-step sequencer. Randomization modes and a multi-mode arpeggiator add variation to a sequence without manually reprogramming every repeat.
