Schoeps CMIT 5 is a world-class shotgun microphone designed for film, broadcast, and music production, offering unmatched precision, natural sound, and exceptional directivity. Its linear frequency response, smooth off-axis behavior, and rotationally symmetrical polar pattern ensure consistent tonal quality even when the microphone’s position changes.

The CMIT 5 stands out with its exceptionally uniform directivity across all frequencies, allowing it to capture sound sources clearly while maintaining minimal coloration of off-axis sounds. The tone remains consistent even when rotated along its axis — an essential feature for professional boom operation in film and television.

Three selectable filters make the CMIT 5 highly adaptable to any recording environment:

  • High-frequency boost: +5 dB at 10 kHz — enhances speech intelligibility and compensates for wind attenuation
  • Low-cut filter: 80 Hz (18 dB/oct) — eliminates rumble, handling noise, and low-frequency interference
  • Proximity filter: 300 Hz (6 dB/oct) — reduces proximity effect during close-miking

With a very low self-noise level of just 14 dB(A) and the ability to handle up to 132 dB SPL, the CMIT 5 delivers pristine, distortion-free recordings even in demanding acoustic conditions. Its lightweight 95 g metal body makes it ideal for mobile use on a boom pole or camera rig. The advanced Schoeps RFI Shield ensures maximum protection against radio-frequency interference and excellent reliability under real-world conditions.

Favored not only by sound engineers in film and broadcast but also by music producers, the CMIT 5 excels in orchestral and ensemble recording for its natural, transparent tonal balance. Available in elegant blue or anthracite finishes, it pairs timeless design with uncompromising performance.
