RØDE Procaster – a professional broadcast-quality dynamic microphone specifically engineered for no-compromise voice performance in podcasting, streaming, radio broadcast, and voice-over applications. Built with robust all-metal construction and featuring an internal pop filter and integrated capsule shock mounting, the Procaster delivers rich, natural tone that flatters any voice type while effectively rejecting ambient noise through its tight cardioid polar pattern.
Procaster has become an established favourite amongst podcasters, livestreamers, and broadcast professionals worldwide. Its tailored-for-voice frequency response (75Hz-18kHz) ensures optimum speech reproduction with full, tight low-end and clear high-end presence that adds warmth and shimmer to vocals. The microphone features an internal pop filter designed to minimize plosive sounds that can overload the capsule and distort audio output, though an additional external pop filter may be beneficial for extremely close-proximity work.
Designed with broadcast applications in mind, the Procaster excels in environments with multiple speakers, effectively limiting bleed between microphones through its focused cardioid pickup pattern. The dynamic capsule is internally shock-mounted to reduce mechanical rumble and handling noise, while the all-metal construction ensures exceptional durability – backed by RØDE's industry-leading 10-year warranty. The high-output dynamic capsule and balanced low-impedance output (320Ω) make it ideal for broadcast and voice-over work, though the microphone does require adequate gain (approximately 50-56dB for spoken dialogue). A microphone preamp, Cloudlifter, or FetHead is recommended for optimal performance. The removable metal mesh endcap allows for cleaning of the internal foam filter. Designed and manufactured in Australia. Includes RM2 stand mount, 3/8-inch adapter, and ZP1 zip pouch.
