Neumann U 89 i

Neumann U 89 i is a large-diaphragm condenser with five polar patterns selectable on a rotary switch in the collar, a switchable pre-attenuation and a compact body.

Five patterns for precise placement

Figure-8, hypercardioid, cardioid, wide cardioid and omni let you fine-tune how much room and spill the microphone picks up, from tight close miking to natural ensemble and ambience recordings.

Clear, articulate tone

The U 89 i is known for a slightly brighter, more articulate sound than the U 87, which works well on speech, acoustic guitar, piano and strings, and it handles up to 134 dB SPL, or 140 dB with the 6 dB pad.
