Neumann PS 20 a is a pop screen with a round thin frame covered with black gauze on both sides, mounted on a gooseneck that clamps to the microphone stand.

Vocals and voice-over without plosives

Close-miked p and t sounds hit the diaphragm as low-frequency bursts that ruin a take. The PS 20 a sits between singer and microphone, breaks up the air blast and keeps the singer at a consistent distance, without colouring the sound.
