Audio Interfaces – The Foundation of Every Recording Setup

Audio Interfaces – The Foundation of Every Recording Setup

An audio interface converts analog signal to digital and back, and its preamps are the first thing your microphone or instrument hits — get this wrong and every recording after it inherits the problem. This collection covers audio interfaces across USB, Thunderbolt, Ethernet and PCIe connections.

How many inputs, and which connection

A 2-in interface like Audient iD14 MKII covers vocals, solo instruments and electronic production. Recording a full band means at least 4–8 mic inputs. The connection type matters too: USB is the universal default, Thunderbolt gives you the lowest latency and highest channel counts, and Ethernet/Dante is for networked, multi-room installs.

Where to start

For a first serious interface with real preamp quality, Audient iD14 MKII is where we send most people. Want built-in DSP for zero-latency effects while tracking? Universal Audio Apollo x4 runs classic hardware emulations in real time without loading your computer.

The brands we carry

We carry Audient, RME, Universal Audio, Antelope Audio, Focusrite and Lynx Studio.

Hear it in our Warsaw showroom

The biggest difference between us and a mail-order shop: you can hear the gear before you buy it. Our showroom at Nowogrodzka 6A/102 in Warsaw is there so you can try it on your own material, not a shop demo. Book a visit or just swing by — we'll help without the sales pitch. FAQ

How many inputs do I actually need?

Two for vocals, solo instruments and most electronic production. Eight or more only if you're regularly tracking a full band or drum kit at once.

Does the audio interface really change how recordings sound?

Mostly through its preamps — that's the stage doing the real work on your recorded tone, more than the converters themselves in most price brackets.

USB, Thunderbolt or Ethernet — which connection do I need?

USB for almost everyone. Thunderbolt when you need very low latency or a high channel count with onboard DSP. Ethernet/Dante only for networked installs spanning multiple rooms.
