Joranalogue Morph 4 is a full-featured amplitude modulator module embodying the concept of "programmable patch" for modular synthesizers. At its core are four linear VCAs controlled by a common "morphing" parameter.
The response of each VCA to this parameter is fully adjustable both manually and by voltage. Each characteristic has a triangular shape where the "position" sets the maximum point along the morphing axis, and the "spread" determines the width of the triangle's base. This dependency can be ignored if needed.
In addition to individual inputs and outputs, there are several combined options: A+B, C+D, summation, averaging, as well as minimum and maximum outputs. Input normalization allows easy routing of one signal to multiple modulators.
LED indicators display signal activity and response characteristics of each channel, providing important visual feedback.
The combination of main control, flexible VCAs, and multiple combined outputs makes Morph 4 the embodiment of the "programmable patch" concept. Use it as a voltage-controlled VCA, crossfader, panner, interpolation scanner/distributor, waveform shaper, rectifier, and more—the choice is yours.
