1010music Bento – new standalone groovebox with touchscreen and pads

1010music unveiled its new device at Superbooth 2025Bento, a standalone music production unit that combines the functionality of a groovebox, sampler, and sequencer in a compact, stylish form.

Sleek, touch-based, and powerful

Bento is a sleek, flat groovebox featuring a 7-inch touchscreen, 16 pads, 8 endless encoders, and full 24-bit sampling support. It offers 8 tracks of sequencing, multiple sample banks with loop and multi-sample support, as well as granular and slicing modes.

Advanced editing and effects

The unit includes a powerful effects section and modulation tools (LFOs and envelopes), as well as a piano roll view and traditional step sequencer. Bento can act as the hub of your studio setup thanks to full support for external MIDI and audio integration.

Connectivity and portability

It features three stereo input/output pairs, two USB-C ports, and MIDI via 3.5 mm TRS. Bento also runs on battery power – up to 3 hours on a single charge – making it perfect for stage use and mobile setups.

Expanding on the blackbox concept

Bento builds on the concept of the popular blackbox, improving on limitations like the lack of battery power and a smaller screen. It’s a device that can easily replace a laptop in many creative workflows.
