Focal is more than a brand—it is "haute couture" philosophy in the audio world. Founded in 1979 in Saint-Étienne by engineer Jacques Mahul, the company focused on complete independence from the start, manufacturing its own drivers when others were simply buying them. This strategy allowed them to create iconic solutions: from revolutionary Polykevlar "W" cones (rigid yet feather-light) to the famous inverted dome tweeters that changed how we perceive space in recordings.
In the professional world, Focal made waves in 2002 by introducing pure Beryllium tweeters—a material so expensive and difficult to process that it is used in the aerospace industry. The result? A frequency response reaching 40 kHz and incredible transient speed that allows you to hear "air" and reverb tails with a precision unavailable to other designs. Thanks to this, series like the SM9 or Trio6 have become standards in studios mixing music where every nuance counts.
For Wired Tunes customers, Focal represents an uncompromising choice, combining French elegance with technological sophistication. Whether you reach for the accessible Alpha Evo series or the reference ST6 models, you get the same DNA: a wide, three-dimensional soundstage and a sound that inspires without fatiguing your ears, even during marathon sessions.
