.With Apollo x4, Universal Audio offers a powerful Thunderbolt 3 audio interface with superior A/D and D/A conversion, four Unison preamps and real-time UAD plug-ins for Mac and PC. Building on Universal Audio's 60-year heritage in audio craftsmanship, Twin X boasts 127dB of D/A dynamic range and award-winning analogue emulations that are externally processed in real time thanks to the processors, freeing up the computer for other processing tasks.
The included UAD 2 plug-ins turn any recording setup into a virtual recording studio with the analogue sound of famous studio classics. When you purchase Universal Audio Apollo x4, the Realtime Analogue Classics and Heritage plug-in packs are included. This gives you access to all the important studio tools in multiple versions: classic compressors LA-2A and 1176, EQs from Pultec and Universal Audio, various delay and reverb effects from AKG, Korg and Roland, and solid-state or tube preamps from Neve, Helios and Siemens. With advanced tools such as the Precision Mastering series or the Precision Oxford EQ, even tasks that require high precision can be performed reliably. If you additionally equip yourself with a more versatile reverb plug-in, such as the UAD Ocean Way Studios, you are perfectly equipped for almost any application!

This means you get the detailed sounds of desirable tube and solid-state microphone preamps - 100% and including input impedance, ''sweet spots'' of the gain stage and component-level circuitry behaviour of the original equipment! Work virtually without delay with emulations such as the included UA 610-B Tube Preamp &, EQ and get unparalleled, authentic analogue sound. Unison technology is also on the front panel of the Hi-Z instrument input, providing perfect impedance and gain matching for guitar and bass amplifiers from Fender, Marshall, Ampeg and many others.

However, UA engineers made it their mission to improve on the previous generation's world-class audio conversion, completely redesigning it to deliver a staggering 127 dB dynamic range and -117 dB distortion. This gives Universal Audio Apollo x4 an open, organic sound that easily rivals dedicated high-end converters.

The built-in Twin X processors take over the main processing role, leaving the computer processor more room for other important processing tasks.
Connectors and integrated talkback microphoneTogive you the flexibility and preparation for all typical recording situations, Apollo x4 offers a total of 12 x18 inputs/outputs. These include four Unison preamps, two independent headphone outputs and two Hi-Z instrumental inputs. In addition, there are four line outputs, an optical ADAT / SPDIF input and output, as well as dedicated monitor controller functions and a built-in talkback microphone.
?Luna is Universal Audio's in-house, full-featured DAW that realises a unique, deep integration of preamp, interface, DSP and sequencer. With Luna, for the first time, the complete recording and production process can be realised using hardware and software from a single manufacturer in a single screen window. Luna controls the microphone amplifiers in the Apollo interfaces via the well-known UAD2 plug-ins, sets their impedance and sonic behaviour to match the emulated analogue hardware, and enables gain staging monitoring. Furthermore, the DSP cores of all Apollo interfaces and UAD DSPs are controlled from a central location, reducing the overall latency from signal input to output to less than 2ms. Together with Luna's special extensions for, for example, Neve consoles and Studer multitrack tape machines, you can not only create your recordings as if you were in an analogue studio, but also sound like it!
Luna also features Unison microphone preamp plug-ins from Neve, Manley, API, Avalon and other well-known manufacturers, and includes a range of newly developed instruments.
These include therealistic Minimoog, a gorgeous concert grand piano combining sampling and physical modelling, Spitfire Audio's orchestral instruments and a large sample library.
