The SPL Phonitor xe Black + DAC768v2 is a standalone headphone amplifier that combines the best of SPL technology without any compromise. The patented Phonitor Matrix technology, remote volume control, stylish retro VU meters, optional premium DAC and advanced VOLTAiR technology make the Phonitor xe one of the best headphone amplifiers of our time.

The Phonitor xe has connections for standard stereo headphones with a jack plug, as well as balanced headphones with a 4-pin XLR connector. With its enormous output power, it easily drives a variety of headphones, delivering all the benefits of SPL's VOLTAiR technology - honest, detailed and at the same time dynamic sound.

Headphone outputs are located on both the front and rear panels. The F/R switch allows you to select the active output, while your favorite headphones remain connected to the alternative connector without unnecessary cables.

The massive 45mm milled aluminum volume knob is a real pleasure to touch. Its weight and the Alps RK27 "Big Blue" motorized potentiometer ensure smooth, yet precise volume control. The red level indicator guarantees good visibility even in low light conditions.

The volume can be adjusted remotely using any IR remote control after a simple pairing procedure.

DAC768v2 is equipped with the patented premium DAC chip AKM AK4493 SEQ VELVETSOUND and the latest generation Spartan 7 FPGA. It provides audio conversion to PCM up to 32 bit/768 kHz (equivalent to 16x CD) and DSD up to DSD256. The analogue output of the DAC is filtered with the unique SLP120 low-pass filter with VOLTAiR technology for maximum dynamics and sonic purity.

Two mechanical VU meters show the levels of the left and right channels with the possibility of optimizing for different signals.

The patented Phonitor Matrix technology allows you to experience the spatial effect of the sound in headphones as if the music was played through speakers, eliminating the tiring effect of hyper-stereophony. The laterality control helps to perfectly adjust the center channel.

The mode switch allows you to choose between stereo and mono, as well as activate the laterality setting.
