Teenage Engineering PO-28 robot – portable 8-bit lead synthesizer from the Pocket Operator series, featuring 15 melodic sounds, built-in drum machine, 16-step sequencer, 128 pattern slots, and 16 onboard effects.
The PO-28 robot is a compact 8-bit synthesizer designed for melodic and rhythmic creativity on the go. It features 15 high-quality synthesized lead sounds, a basic 16-sample drum machine, and 16 punch-in effects, including filters, sweeps, repeats, glitch, noise, and retrigger variations. The 16-step sequencer allows for real-time composition, chaining up to 128 patterns for full tracks. This synthesizer is powered by two AAA batteries and includes a fold-out stand for tabletop use.
Built on a high-quality single-layer PCB, the PO-28 includes a Cirrus Logic DAC, Knowles speaker, and Silabs EFM 32 Gecko microcontroller. It has a small yet clear LCD screen, two parameter knobs (A/B), and a tactile 16-button interface for triggering sounds and effects. Two 3.5 mm mini-jack connections allow for audio output and sync with other Pocket Operators, making it a powerful addition to any portable music setup.
