Solid State Logic (SSL)
SSL 500 Series Ultraviolet Stereo EQ
Full description
Focus Mode - find and identify specific frequencies
One of the things that sets SSL Ultraviolet apart from conventional equalizer units is its unique 'Focus Mode'. Focus Mode allows you to 'select' specific frequencies that can be used to eliminate problem frequencies or to boost desired frequencies to add colour to your sound. When activated, Focus Mode narrows the selected 'Q' setting while increasing the gain range (from +/-9 dB to +/-18 dB). This allows a surgical approach to sound shaping/mixing decisions, providing the means to achieve the desired sound with exceptional precision.
Two dedicated parametric mid-bands
Building on its design of classic SSL hardware, Ultraviolet takes the character and principles of Solid State Logic to the next level with two dedicated mid-bands with precision controls. You can achieve everything from classic 'notch' filtering to resonant screams with just a few knobs. As always with SSL gear, Ultraviolet provides a highly musical design that allows you to shape your sound with the utmost precision.
High-pass filter and dedicated trimmer
If you want to remove unwanted low-end frequencies and enhance the bass response, the built-in HPF (high-pass filter) allows for easy low-end processing. The unique LF shelving bands allow for easy sculpting of signals, and offer the iconic 'boost and cut,' effect. The module also features a dedicated trim control, providing plenty of headroom and the ability to trim the sound (if desired) for truly unique and aggressive sounds.
