Orion Studio Synergy Core – a rackmount Thunderbolt 3 and USB audio interface with 12 discrete microphone preamps, AD/DA conversion up to 130 dB dynamic range, and onboard DSP/FPGA processing for real-time effects, built as the central hub of a professional recording studio.
Running Thunderbolt 3 and USB simultaneously, Dual Host Streaming lets two computers record at once, while integrated room correction and a digital patch bay replace separate calibration software and signal-routing hardware.
Dual Host Streaming – a take that survives a computer failure
The interface streams audio over Thunderbolt 3 and USB to two separate computers at the same time, so if one loses connection, a driver crashes, or the DAW freezes mid-vocal-take, recording continues on the other machine without interrupting the session. The same feature opens up a two-engineer workflow – one person mixing on one machine while another simultaneously tracks multitrack audio on a second, without an extra interface or a Dante network card.
Synergy Core effects without loading the computer's CPU
Two FPGA chips and six DSP chips process up to 240 mono effect instances at once with near-zero latency, so a vocalist can hear themselves through a modeled tube compressor or EQ while tracking, without reaching for a native plugin that taxes the DAW. On a session with a dozen-plus live tracks – a full band, horn section, choir – processing effects inside the interface itself leaves the computer's CPU free for mix-bus plugins instead of splitting it between live monitoring and recording.
