Heritage Audio Grandchild 670 500 is a 2-channel tube limiter/compressor from the 500 series, featuring transformers with individual windings, 5 selectable attack/release time constants, smoothly adjustable knee, input gain, AC threshold, DC threshold, time constant switch, and Bypass switch.

The Grandchild 670 500 is based on the legendary Fairchild 670 compressor and the Heritage Audio HERCHILD 670 model. The module boasts an attractive front panel with a large, informative level meter, a 3-position Active/Bypass/Off switch for the unit, adjustable input gain with a 20 dB range, AC threshold control, and 5 selectable attack/release time values.

The device is designed to glue audio mixes together with the characteristic tube coloration of a variable-mu compressor. The stereo compressor is equipped with 4 NOS 6BA6 (5749) tubes, three exclusively designed transformers (one per channel and one for sidechain), as well as selected components and circuitry necessary to achieve the desired warm analog sound.
