Active Circuitry for Massive Output
One of the persistent challenges when tracking with traditional ribbon microphones is their inherently low output level, which frequently necessitates the use of external inline boosters. The WA-2FT pair bypasses this workflow bottleneck by featuring an integrated, switchable JFET "Warm Lifter" preamp. When engaged and powered by 48V phantom power, this active circuitry delivers a robust 26 dB of clean, analog gain. This allows engineers to interface the microphones directly with standard audio interface preamps without inducing unwanted noise, ensuring a pristine signal-to-noise ratio even on delicate acoustic sources.
CineMag Transformers and Phase Precision
Capturing a wide, immersive stereo field demands absolute phase coherence and identical frequency responses across both channels. The WA-2FT microphones are rigorously hand-matched to guarantee flawless spatial imaging. Internally, each microphone houses a custom 1.8-micron thick aluminum ribbon suspended in a powerful rare-earth Neodymium magnetic field, coupled to a premium CineMag USA output transformer. This specific acoustic architecture captures a tight, commanding low-end and intricate midrange detail, allowing your tracks to sit perfectly in dense mixes without requiring aggressive subtractive equalization.
