Microphones in the Set and Their Roles
The DTP 340 REX is a dynamic kick drum microphone with two switchable EQ voicings – detail-focused and powerful – allowing tonal adjustment at the source without reaching for the console equalizer. The housing works both inside and outside the kick drum shell. The MTP 440 DM is a cardioid moving-coil dynamic, Kenny Aronoff's stated favourite snare mic, with a lively and punchy character equally effective on guitar cabinets and hi-hat bleed reduction. The LCT 040 MATCH pair is algorithm-matched: every unit is measured individually, with automated polarization voltage calibration bringing each capsule to identical sensitivity. The absence of onboard switches keeps the body at ⌀24 × 83 mm and 44.6 g – easy to position in tight overhead locations above cymbals.
