Small, low-mass diaphragms track fast transients better than large capsules, but on many budget designs that comes at the cost of warmth and natural tone. The 011 FET-M's transformerless circuit keeps a fast response to a plucked string or a struck cymbal while holding a controlled low end and a smooth midrange, so the extra detail doesn't sound sterile.
