Metric Halo MH EdgeCard - AES/SPDIF — an EdgeBus expansion card adding 4 channels of AES/EBU input and output on XLR connectors to any 3d-based unit.
The card occupies the single EdgeBus slot present on every 3d-based unit and brings in two pairs of AES/EBU over standard XLR wiring, with no need for DB-25 adapters or snakes when a studio only needs a smaller digital channel count.
Four AES Channels Where Eight Is More Than Needed
Not every installation needs the full eight AES channels of the DB-25 card — sometimes all that's required is connecting a single outboard dynamics processor or a stereo converter without paying for bandwidth that goes unused. The AES/SPDIF card provides exactly that for smaller setups: 4 channels on standard XLR connectors, ready to patch in directly with a normal digital cable and no adapter run.One Card, Digital Format Flexibility in the Studio
Working with a mixed park of digital gear — some AES/EBU, some SPDIF — an engineer benefits from a card that bridges both standards without fitting two separate expansion modules. All channels land in the 3d unit's routing matrix on equal footing with the built-in I/O, letting the unit act as a central format-conversion point between older SPDIF gear and newer AES processors without a standalone converter taking up rack space.KEY FEATURES
