Metric Halo 3d Card for 2882 Legacy — a digital upgrade for the older 2882 interface without a 2d card, bringing in the 3d Core architecture with MHLink, EdgeBus, and USB-C, bundled with an ADAT board and cable.
The card replaces the 2882 Legacy's entire digital and computer layer while keeping the original analog front end intact — the 8 mic/line/instrument inputs and 8 TRS outputs stay untouched, with only the processing and connectivity path modernized. It's a practical way to keep an older unit in a current production chain without replacing the whole interface.
An Older 2882 With Modern Network Connectivity
Legacy units without a 2d card have no access to newer network protocols or fast computer connections by design, limiting their use in current studio setups built around networked audio. The 3d Card brings USB-C for a fast, low-latency connection to a Mac or PC, plus support for Dante and AES67-compatible networks, letting a 2882 Legacy join a networked audio environment without an intermediate protocol converter. One Limitation to Keep in Mind at 4x Resolutions
The A/D converters on Legacy units (2882 and ULN-2) have a physical limitation preventing operation at 176.4 kHz and 192 kHz — after the upgrade, the A/D converters stay disabled at those resolutions, while the D/A remains functional but runs with reduced fidelity at 4x rate. That's worth knowing when planning sessions requiring very high sample rates — for most studio work up to 96 kHz the limitation has no practical effect.KEY FEATURES
