Mackie ProFX12v3 is a 12-channel analog studio and recording mixer with a built-in 2x4 USB audio interface, seven Onyx mic preamps, and the GigFX effects engine – a no-frills analog workhorse for gigging musicians, content creators, and home studio operators who need clean preamps, stereo USB recording, and onboard effects without the added cost of Bluetooth or multi-mode recording.
Seven Onyx mic preamps deliver up to 60 dB of gain with an EIN of –126 dBu. Channels 1–2 carry XLR/TRS combo inputs with Hi-Z switching for direct guitar and bass connection. Channels 3–4 accept XLR or 1/4" mic/line signals, while channels 5/6, 7/8, and 9/10 work as both mono mic inputs or stereo line pairs via 1/4" jacks. Channel 11/12 uses a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack, switchable to the USB 3/4 DAW return. A 3-band EQ (±15 dB at 80 Hz, 2.5 kHz, and 12 kHz) is present on all channels, the 100 Hz low-cut filter on channels 1–10, and single-knob compression on channels 1–4. Insert points are available on channels 1–4.
Straightforward live and studio routing
One aux send per channel routes signal to a dedicated monitor mix or external processor. A stereo subgroup bus with per-channel assignment allows grouping sources – keyboards, backing tracks, or drum machines – under a single fader pair, useful for fast level management during live sets. XLR and 1/4" main outputs cover connections to powered speakers, power amplifiers, and stageboxes. The 2x4 USB interface captures the stereo main mix at up to 24-bit/192 kHz – plug in a USB cable, select the mixer as the input device in the DAW or streaming software, and record. Latency-free direct monitoring with a blend control lets the engineer hear the analog input and the DAW return simultaneously without buffer delay.
GigFX engine and software bundle included
The GigFX processor offers 24 effect presets covering reverbs, delays, choruses, distortion, and auto-wah, selected by a single encoder knob and mutable instantly via a front-panel button or optional footswitch. Each channel carries an independent FX send level control, so the depth of effect can be dialled differently for each microphone and instrument without touching the main mix. Included software: Waveform OEM (unlimited track count, no feature restrictions) plus Pro Tools First with the 23-plugin Mackie Musician Collection covering EQ, compression, delay, reverb, and more.
