Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave Keyboard – hybrid wavetable synthesizer with 24-voice polyphony, 4-part multitimbrality, analog filters, and a powerful modulation matrix, combining classic PPG heritage with modern sound design and performance features.
The 3rd Wave delivers a deep synthesis architecture with three high-resolution digital oscillators per voice, offering 64 user wavetable slots and 48 factory wavetables, each containing 64 waveforms. In addition, it includes 32 classic 8-bit PPG waveforms and 7 modeled analog shapes. With support for VCO sync and linear FM, it offers both digital precision and analog character. The synth features dual filters, including a Dave Rossum-designed analog low-pass filter and a state-variable filter for flexible tone shaping.
Modulation is expansive, with 4 delay-capable ADSR envelopes and 4 LFOs offering a wide range of shapes. The 16-slot modulation matrix per part allows for complex routing. Two onboard effects processors include delay, reverb, chorus, flanger, and more. A built-in Wavetable Maker allows importing your own audio at 16-bit / 96kHz. The 3rd Wave also offers a powerful sequencer and arpeggiator, pitch/mod wheels, and a premium 61-key Fatar semi-weighted keybed with velocity and aftertouch.
