Focusrite RedNet D64R — a 1U, fully bi-directional 64x64 bridge between any MADI (AES10) system and a Dante network, with sample rate conversion on every channel and redundant power and network connections.
D64R links consoles, processors and other MADI gear into a Dante network through both coaxial BNC and optical SC-Duplex connections, with automatic input selection — the unit senses signal presence and defaults to optical over coaxial when both are connected. Everything is configured through RedNet Control 2 and Dante Controller, with no physical patching required.
Bridging MADI and Dante without clocking headaches
Every input and output carries its own sample rate converter, so the MADI side and the Dante side can run on independent clocks without losing sync. In standard mode D64R carries 64 channels at 44.1/48 kHz, 32 at 88.2/96 kHz and 16 at 176.4/192 kHz, while varispeed mode (56/28/14 channels) keeps the full channel count available even when the Dante network is pulled more than 1% above nominal — a common situation in broadcast facilities running at 25 or 29.97 fps. The clock source — internal, MADI or Word Clock — is set independently on each side of the bridge, and the MADI output can automatically follow the format of the incoming signal.
Redundancy built for live and broadcast environments
Two independent power supplies with separate IEC inlets and retaining clips, plus dual etherCON ports running in redundant, switched or daisy-chain mode, remove the single point of failure from the signal path. The status of each power supply and each network port is visible on the front panel in real time, and BNC Word Clock in/out let D64R lock to house clock or distribute clock to other equipment, independent of the Dante network's own clock domain.
