SSQ JSJS1 is a one-metre balanced TRS–TRS cable from Polish manufacturer Sound Station Quality, built for balanced connections in studio and live environments. Both ends terminate in 6.3 mm stereo jack connectors — identical configuration on each side, which eliminates any guesswork about input versus output orientation in a cable run.
Shield density and cable construction — where the difference is made
The critical parameter in balanced cables is shield coverage. The SSQ JSJS1 uses a cross-braided copper shield with a minimum 90% coverage density, while cheaper alternatives often stop at 30%. Higher coverage directly translates to more effective suppression of electromagnetic interference — in practice, no mains hum or RFI bleed even on longer cable runs. The multi-strand copper conductors (30×0.1 strand construction) with a 2×0.23 mm² cross-section provide appropriate flexibility at a 6 mm outer diameter: the cable is neither thin enough to be vulnerable to mechanical damage nor stiff enough to get in the way during daily use. Polyethylene (PE) conductor insulation and a self-extinguishing PVC outer jacket compliant with EN 60332-1 round out the construction from a safety and durability standpoint. Connectors are soldered with lead-free solder with silver additive and include a cable strain relief. A Velcro strap is supplied with each cable for tidy cable management after a session or on stage.Application and connection type
A TRS–TRS balanced cable is the first choice for connecting an audio interface to studio monitors, or mixer outputs to active PA speakers — wherever both devices feature balanced connectors. In a balanced cable, the signal travels on two conductors with inverted polarity, and the common mode rejection at the input of the receiving device cancels out any interference picked up along the cable run, keeping the signal path clean regardless of cable length.
