The 023 MALFA Deluxe is a limited-edition large-diaphragm FET condenser microphone built on the 023 FET body with a factory-fitted MALFA capsule - a design that started as a private studio tool for producer MALFA, built on top of the 023 Bomblet capsule. A satin-black mid-section with the MALFA logo sets it apart visually from the standard Bomblet, and production is capped at 20 units worldwide.

The MALFA capsule handles this at the tuning stage - a gentle lift around 6-7kHz adds articulation without reaching for a console EQ, extended top end above 15kHz gives cymbals and strings a natural shimmer, and leaner low-mids keep dense productions from turning muddy. The result is a mix-ready signal from the first take, without surgical correction at the mix stage.
Level control on loud sources
A switchable -20dB pad lets the same microphone work on high-SPL sources like guitar cabinets or drum overheads without overloading the capsule, up to a maximum rating of 140dB SPL. A custom toroidal transformer adds density and harmonic color regardless of whether the source is a quiet vocal or a loud instrumental take, making this edition practical well beyond a single vocal session.
