Novation FLkey 2 37 is the second generation of the only MIDI keyboard controller built exclusively for FL Studio, developed in official collaboration with Image-Line. Compared to the original FLkey, the MK2 brings deeper DAW integration, polyphonic aftertouch pads, an OLED display, and a hardware MIDI Out port — all in a compact three-octave form factor.

Direct, hands-on control over FL Studio's core tools

The eight rotary encoders auto-map to the active plugin's parameters the moment you load it — no manual assignment required. In Sytrus they target FM operators, in Harmor they hit the Image module's dimensions, in the Mixer they control channel levels. The 16 RGB pads cover Channel Rack triggering, Step Sequencer programming, and finger drumming across FPC, SliceX, and Fruity Slicer. Dedicated transport buttons, Undo/Redo, Score Log, Pattern/Song toggle, and a metronome button keep the mouse off the desk. The OLED screen feeds back parameter names, values, and chord names in real time without switching focus to the screen.

Creative tools and connectivity beyond FL Studio

Scale mode locks the keyboard to a chosen scale, removing wrong notes from the equation when sketching ideas quickly. Fixed Chord mode triggers full chord voicings from a single key press, and Chord Maps fires complete progressions from the pads. The built-in arpeggiator handles sequence generation and real-time manipulation without touching the DAW. The full-size 5-pin MIDI Out port connects hardware synthesizers and external MIDI gear directly. Users who switch between FL Studio and another DAW get Mackie HUI support, while Novation Components handles custom parameter mapping for VST plugins or any external hardware.
