Lauten Audio Atlantis FC-387 is a multi-pattern, large-diaphragm FET condenser microphone developed in collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Fab Dupont. Engineered for premium vocal and acoustic instrument tracking, the microphone is built around a custom-tuned 31.25mm dual-diaphragm capsule. Its solid-state FET topology delivers transparent, exceptionally fast transient response while maintaining harmonic richness and physical weight in the low-end frequencies.
Three distinct sonic signatures without swapping mics
Matching a microphone to a specific vocalist usually dictates time-consuming mic shootouts that interrupt studio workflow. The Atlantis eliminates this bottleneck with its proprietary Voicing switch. The "Forward" setting pushes midrange presence to cut through dense modern mixes without introducing harsh sibilance. "Neutral" provides a highly balanced, natural frequency response. The "Gentle" setting effectively rolls off aggressive high frequencies, taming strident vocals or bright cymbals much like a vintage ribbon microphone, saving engineers from applying destructive EQ during the mixing phase.
Total headroom and proximity management
Recording high-SPL sources or capturing delicate, quiet performances requires precise gain staging right at the source. The 3-way gain switch features a +10dB boost to drive weak sources while bypassing preamp noise floors, alongside a -10dB pad for loud guitar cabs or heavy-hitting drummers. Furthermore, the selectable cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 polar patterns provide total control over the proximity effect and the rejection of unwanted room bleed.
