D.W. Fearn VT-7

D.W. Fearn VT-7 is a Stereo/Dual Mono Vacuum Tube Mastering/Mix Bus Compressor with 2 analog XLR Inputs and 2 analog XLR Outputs, GND, rackmountable.

VT-7 is designed for tracking, mixing, and mastering. The device features a fully Class-A vacuum tube audio path. The compressor delivers a very transparent sound but can also be used more aggressively if needed. When using, the two channels can operate independently or be linked for stereo, while the third position of the Link switch inserts a high pass filter (HPF) into the sidechain to reduce the VT-7's sensitivity to low frequencies. This smooth roll-off is nominally at 100 Hz, allowing heavy bass mixes to achieve better frequency balance without modulating the sound level with heavy low-frequency sounds. It is ideal for rock and pop mixes, as well as jazz and classical compositions.
