Burl Audio B80-BAD4M-1414 – a modular B80 Mothership converter platform configuration fitted with the mastering-grade BAD4M ADC card.
The system is built on the B80 Mothership chassis, with ten slots for 4- or 8-channel conversion cards, letting the interface scale up to 80 analog channels depending on installed cards and the swappable motherboard responsible for the digital protocol - Dante, MADI, SoundGrid, or a direct Pro Tools connection. The BAD4M card adds four channels of mastering-grade analog-to-digital conversion with a 10 Hz to 30 kHz frequency response (±0.1 dB) at 96 kHz, a 115 dB dynamic range, and THD+N of -96 dB at +22 dBu full scale.
A choice between transformer and transformerless paths on one card
The BAD4M lets you switch the input analog stage between a classic BX1 transformer path, coupled without op-amps, and a newer transformerless BOPA14 preamp built as a fully discrete Class-A design. That flexibility removes the need for two separate conversion cards for sessions that call for analog saturation versus mastering work, where maximum transparency in the signal path matters - a switch on the card does the job instead of swapping hardware mid-session.Modular channel expansion without replacing the whole interface
