The OC-S10 is a premium implementation of the flagship CKR12 capsule known from the OC818, this time without the touring-oriented compromises — a slim, weighty body and fully discrete circuitry with symmetrical high-slew-rate current amplifiers were designed purely for maximum studio fidelity. Five polar patterns (omni, wide cardioid, cardioid, hypercardioid, figure-8) plus an individual dual-output mode, three high-pass filters (40/80/160 Hz), and two pads (-10/-20 dB) give a sensitivity of 14 mV/Pa, a self-noise of just 8 dB SPL(A), and a maximum SPL of 157 dB with the pad engaged.

Two independent XLR outputs as a tool for deferred decisions

A common problem when recording a solo vocal or instrument: the polar pattern has to be chosen before the session, and a wrong call only shows up at mix time. The OC-S10 captures the front and rear of the CKR12 capsule separately through two full-size XLR connectors, letting you shape any polar pattern, correct proximity effect, or control room reverb after the fact in PolarDesigner and StereoCreator — without touching EQ.

A ball-joint shockmount and a frameless metal pop filter

A standard fabric pop filter introduces its own frequency response and reflections that subtly color the vocal signal. The included OCPF10 uses porous metal instead of fabric, taming plosives and wind noise with almost no impact on frequency response, and its magnetic mount to the OCSM10 shockmount allows precise distance-setting from the diaphragm without extra rigging. The ball-joint shockmount itself gives full freedom to angle the microphone while minimizing vibration transfer from the floor or stand.
