Antelope Audio Discrete 8 Oryx is a next-generation studio interface that redefines what’s possible for producers, engineers, and bands. It merges pristine conversion, console-grade preamps, real-time Synergy Core FX processing, and hybrid-ready routing in one powerful 1U rack unit. Designed for modern multi-instrument workflows, the Discrete 8 Oryx serves as a complete hub for professional recording and mixing setups.
Equipped with state-of-the-art AD/DA converters offering up to 130 dB of dynamic range and fourth-generation 64-bit AFC™ clocking, it delivers an expansive stereo image with unmatched depth and detail. Eight discrete Class-A preamps—each built with six transistors—provide up to 75 dB of gain and ultra-low noise for clean, transparent recordings. All eight combo inputs are DC-coupled and accept mic, line or instrument signals, with the first two channels offering Hi-Z mode for direct guitars or basses.
Connectivity is extensive: 26 × 38 simultaneous channels with ADAT, S/PDIF, word clock, USB-C, 8 DC-coupled line outs, reamp outs, monitor outs, and 4 independent headphone outputs. The intuitive virtual patch-bay allows fast drag-and-drop routing across analog and digital paths. Each headphone output includes its own mixer, DAC, and Antelope’s X-Feed system for natural stereo crossfeed and EQ customization.
Powered by dual DSP and one FPGA chip, the Synergy Core platform runs up to 37 analog-modeled effects in real time with imperceptible latency—perfect for tracking vocals with compression or reverb while keeping the computer CPU free. The Discrete 8 Oryx also supports microphone modeling with the Antelope Edge series, enabling classic mic emulations directly within the interface.
