Torso S-4 just received its most significant firmware update to date. The new OS 2.0 fully rewrites the core engine and brings a wide range of creative tools and performance features that push this sculpting sampler to the next level.
What’s new in Torso S-4 OS 2.0?
- Perform – global macros: assign multiple parameters to 8 performance knobs and 4 punch-in effect buttons for instant creative changes.
- Scene – save and launch full project snapshots in a single click. Up to 128 scenes per project, with full MIDI Program Change support.
- Temp – temporarily adjust parameters and instantly snap back to the original state when released.
- Disc – a new sample playback device that streams long samples directly from internal storage. Perfect for stems, field recordings, and long loops.
- Follow – a new modulation source that acts as an envelope follower from input or output amplitude for dynamic parameter control.
Improved workflow and expanded creative power
Alongside new performance tools, Torso S-4 OS 2.0 introduces copy functionality for duplicating devices, tracks, and scenes. The Tape device gets varispeed live looping, the interface has been redesigned, and many existing devices now offer extended functionality.
