Telegrapher Elephant Trooper White is an active analog studio subwoofer in a sealed enclosure — the Trooper White color variant with a premium soft-touch silky matte finish. A 32 cm (12.5") paper sandwich woofer with patented foam-filled cone, two bridged Class D amplifiers (2 × 500 W), and a fully analog signal path from input to driver. User-adjustable crossover from 30 to 300 Hz, 0–360° phase control, and two XLR inputs with two pass-through outputs allow integration into any studio monitor pair without an external patchbay. Weight 38 kg, dimensions 430 × 440 × 525 mm.
Sealed Enclosure and All-Analog Signal Path
Ported subwoofers generate port noise — audible air turbulence at high SPL that obscures bass definition and makes individual low-frequency notes harder to distinguish. The Elephant's sealed enclosure eliminates port noise entirely: the low end is even, controlled, and transient-fast — sealed alignments respond quicker to input changes than ported designs, meaning kick drum impacts and electric bass lines are individually legible under a mix. The analog signal path with no D/A conversion preserves the tonal character and dynamic range of the main monitors — the Elephant is an extension of the signal chain, not an independent digital processor. The –3 dB point is at 41.7 Hz and the –6 dB point at 31.7 Hz, covering the full 20–300 Hz studio subwoofer range.
Stereo Routing, Crossover Adjustment and Protection
Two balanced XLR inputs (or unbalanced RCA) with parallel pass-through outputs allow the Elephant to be inserted between a console or interface and the main monitor pair without interrupting the original signal path. When both channels are connected, the subwoofer sums them to mono internally ahead of the low-pass filter. The continuously adjustable crossover (30–300 Hz, second-order LP) and 0–360° phase control provide precise integration calibration with any monitor pair. Protection circuits trigger an immediate amplifier shutdown on detection of high-frequency signals (microphone feedback), overheating, or electrical fault — indicated by a red LED. White LED = normal operation; red flashing = audio clipping; steady red = protection shutdown. A user-configurable standby timer turns the amplifiers off after 120 minutes of inactivity.
