The 1973-S Deluxe is the silver-finish version of the 1973 with a full mounting and transport accessory package - a handmade oak suitcase, a dedicated shockmount, and a hard mount. The microphone itself is unchanged from the standard version: the same S23 capsule found in the 023 Bomblet, a transformerless FET circuit, and a built-in resonator that curbs plosives.

Two mounting options instead of one compromise

A standard spring shockmount damps stand-transmitted vibration well, but in some setups - a boom arm, inside a kick drum shell, a tight stage rig near the sound source - an elastic suspension simply doesn't fit. The Deluxe package offers a choice: the shockmount for typical studio work and the hard mount where a rigid, predictable mic axis matters more than isolation. Engineers don't need to buy a second mount for edge cases or improvise a rig on set.

Gear protection on the road without a separate purchase

A microphone worth several hundred dollars carried in a soft bag or a cardboard box risks capsule damage on every trip between the studio and a venue. The handmade oak suitcase included with the 1973-S Deluxe removes that risk - a rigid case holds the microphone, XLR cable, and accessories together, ready to go straight into a car or travel case without extra packing. The silver finish also reads well on camera against classic studio gear during video shoots.
